Permit to Operate in Overseas Markets – RADAR from the IRS

Before a company can begin their import and export operations, all documentation should be in order with the IRS. One of the most important requested documents by the agency responsible for customs control in Brazil is the RADAR.

To request a Radar, a permit for import and export, it’s required to exhibit documents from the company and through their legal representative.

The application should be submitted at the IRS office closest to the region where the company’s headquarters is located.

Documentation Required to request a Radar:

  • CPF and RG of the partners;
  • Registration Certificate from the Board of Trade;
  • Simplified Certificate from the Board of Trade;
  • Social contract and latest changes;
  • Business license;
  • Property tax from last year;
  • Leasing contract of the company’s property;
  • Electric bill copy or telephone with the company’s name and address;
  • Statement of Debits and Federal Tax Credits (DCTF), as set out in art. 3 of the SRF Normative
  • Instruction No. 583/05 (Receitanet);
  • Initial registration forms notarized according to the model of the IRS.
  • Notes:

  • The company should notify about the accession to the DTE - Economic Tax Address (to learn more about the DTE, visit the IRS website).
  • The articles of incorporation of the company, should contain the name of the person who will be signing all the documents of the Radar application;
  • All documents must be authenticated and/or notarized.
  • To access the SISCOMEX (Integrated Foreign Trade System), the E-CPF of the legal representative of the company should be used.
